Chris Cornes is my neighbour. He's a good chap.
Over the years we've had a fair few chats over the garden fence, and every time I'm amazed at what he's done.
He moved in to look after his sister after his wife Marion passed away. And every time we speak I found out a little more about what he and Marion achieved.
During more than half a century of married life they move house thirty-odd times, living in many countries while working as a construction project manager, a life which began with a call to see if he'd mind building a palace in Abu Dhabi.
As the country count totted up Chris and Marion raised their four kids all over the world, with a wealth of experiences gathered along the way. Eventually he and Marion focused more on their passion for wildlife, gathering previously unrecorded data on flora and fauna in places such as Bahrain and the Mojave desert. Chris' photography took in the world's sights, including much safari in their beloved Africa.
Each time we speak I'm encouraged to say yes, give it a go, and I hope my family is able to live our lives to the full as much as Chris and his managed. He still travels to visit kids, grandchildren and now another generation.
Have a listen to our chat and visit his website www.christophercornes.com to find out more about his remarkable adventures...
